Campaign against AAP First it was a campaign against the great escape of Arvind from Delhi. It did not stick. Then it was Bedi surprise with Shaizia embracing BJP that did not upset the apple cart of AAP as the election bomb and master stroke.. The labels of an anarchist, revolutionary failed to evoke sympathy for BJP. The charisma of P.M Modi did not serve as an expected catalyst to give the fillip with expected crowd response. The gaffes committed by Bedi put the BJP totally on the defensive , calling her innocent new comer and putting gag order on her. Bedi to add to the discomfiture refused public debate calling it a tamasha and preferred debates later in the Assembly after elections .BJP then rained down central Ministers and other party leaders in what they called show casing a bouquet of flowers. Knowing the reality and harsh prospect, BJP showed signs of nervousness and jittery reaction. Personal attacks, embroiling AAP with election Commission to divert his energies aren’t working to their satisfaction. Then there is ad, mad campaign with comic cartoons depicting AAP in poor light. Finally the donations of 2 crores from so called 4 shell companies to paint AAP as corrupt is another ploy .The fact that this information was openly available from April on their web site is not digestible by BJP, now drumming up sympathy for itself. The Govt in power can order inquiry into this episode of dubious funding by non existing companies at their designated address and flouting of existing provisions of percentage in donations. Instead they want AAP to use its internal mechanism a few days prior to elections. The AAP is not an investigating agency to go into the source of money donated. Check payment is definitely a transparent method and all doubts can be traced,. Would any company knowing scrutiny approach be foolish enough to tie itself up in knots?
On the contrary both BJP and Congress received over 9000 crores, 3000 crores respectively in last elections from lakhs of unknown sources including substantial amounts from a Goan miner now under investigation for black money. Both National parties are not transparent or display their donations on any website and are hiding under observance of so called rules in force, as their legitimate legal defense It is also a fact that both National parties were tooth and nail against right to information on political parties, as they had something to be discrete about the source and amount of funds, Arwind was eloquent in his debut on NDTV and demolished ably all the myths wound round him by political adversaries Will all the muck thrown at AAP by the dirty department of opposition parties stick.? The voters of Delhi are the ones who will decide, as they alone very well know the track record of all parties to be taken for a ride based on propaganda alone, It is seen clearly by the electorate that massive investment in financial resources, man power and administration will not be the sole criteria of the outcome of this election They want actions on the ground and not speeches and promises Nelson Lopes Chinchinim
