Footpaths for commerce It was very much a relief to pedestrian and crowded market visitors that footpath proposal at Chinchinim was conceived by Zilla Parishad member. The safety an ease of movement was ensured. The opposite designated as parking zone was effective considered measure. Immediately the footpath was usurped by hawkers to sell their wares.NGO from Chinchinim rightly intervened to restore rule of law but not for long. The Local body was aware of it, but wanted citizens to complain in writing as if they were blind to this glaring fact, Further, still to day the Panchayat is collecting charges on daily bases thus legitimizing their right. It is time that the local body vigorously completes the market complex to bring sanity and order considering space constraints
