SAEED AKHTAR MIRZA is one of the
iconic directors of Indian Parallel Cinema who has won numerous awards
for his work. He now also spends his time writing and is known for his
critically acclaimed novels AMMI: Letters to a Democratic Mother and The
Monk, The Moor and Moses Ben Jalloun.

SALIM LANGDE PE MAT RO released
in the year 1989 chronicles the life of a young man named Salim and the
changes happening in his life within the society where communal fever
resides. Highly acclaimed at the time of it's release the film went on
to win the prestigious National Award for Best Hindi Feature Film and
Best Cinematography. Considered to be one of the most significant films
of Indian Cinema Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro continues to inspire a
