Has the 5-star industry been a curse or a blessing? How many Goans are employed in this industry? Statistics should be easily available but unfortunately they are not. Maybe an informal survey can be undertaken by a couple of Goans working in each 5-star hotel clearly indicating the number of temporary and regular employees and to which echelon they belong - low, middle, upper. How much of Goa's land which is now a part of the 5-star corporate world has been bought or sold should be made known to the public and published in our daily newspapers. People need to know. Waiting for the government to provide the public with information is like waiting for Godot or Special Statues - we'll get it after all the land is gone!
