Hi all

GOA- Moira Club AGM Sunday, 26th July 2015 at 10.30 a.m.
As a teenager I recall attending many enjoyable  events  at The Moira Club and
Grounds.   I was even convinced at one time that the Goan  Clubhouse Model and
administrative infrastructure was an export from Goa to Kenya and beyond  until
I came across the book Into The Diaspora Wilderness by Selma Carvalho  that the
clubhouse structures  began in East Africa.  However, as I always say Goans do
not tell the right story, I would at some stage like to verify this as I am
none the wiser. Today printer ink per mg is more expensive than champagne and
the Announcement in the  Church where, like a club, at a given time people club
together is effective in passing a message by word of mouth .This may have been
more effective in announcing  the  very important Accountant Generals Meeting
(AGM) to what I suspect  from experience  is an engineered ploy by clever dick
office bearers to rid members of land for self-enrichment. It is very important
that all members turn up and participate to save the land for the teenagers of
tomorrow as we once did. Otherwise like ten green bottles one will accidently
fall then another leaving only one or two to walk away with the assets.
Just as I predict is likely to happen with one of our clubs here based in
London England. I hope I covered this in a recent article – Cockroaches and
self enrichment.
The Constitution is of the highest authority of the organisation and any
changes will be by resolution of members all of whom will have been given
advance notice .

The Notice of meeting with Agenda and Accounts must be circulated in advance
within the time specified in the constitution otherwise this is a mickey mouse
outfit and the meeting will be null and void in Law , if allowed to continue
the rot will set in and good governance and the search for excellence  and
investment in people will diminish.
I was sad to hear of the alert and offer my best wishes to members  and good
luck.
