To declare or not to declare Wild boars, Monkeys as vermin In today's discussion in the Assembly House on a resolution moved by Opposition Leader Pratapsing Rane to declare the two animals as vermin.. Rane suggested Wild boar may be declared as Vermin and because Monkeys may have some Sentimental/Religious value, famers may be given subsidy to use some devices such as explosive to scare away monkeys etc
Whereas, one of the BJP MLA (Kiran, I think) pleaded his govt not to commit the sin by declaring Monkey as vermin (as Monkey, cow etc revered as gods). However, it seems he had no problem declaring wild boar as vermin Speaker Vishnu Wagh reminded him that Wild boar is also an avatar of Lord Vishnu Peacock was also in the news some days ago, again to declare as vermin.
