A couple of indicators could point to the Goanet Admin having left posters to self-moderate. I couldn't blame moderators with their years of unflinching voluntary service giving way to fatigue. Goans, in this case posters, are after all, once you take them out of colonial service, not the most disciplined crowd.
The latest indicator is the word 'Dong' that slipped by. In New York you wouldn't raise an eyebrow with it and so also in Toronto, but in polite society, it will bring on a few sniggers. Then there are posts that will copy about half a dozen backposts to provide reference. While that is OK on private messages, on bulletin boards it is tiresome. See how quickly your post can be seen on the archives. Either moderators have become super-quick or posts are not filtered any more. I don't think any of us will have a problem with this until as they say in India, some 'lumpen elements' will take advantage. Roland Francis 416-453-3371
