However, its no point not using the name of the political party as evidence is everywhere to prove that this was the action of the BJP. Shrewd politics of hate is what the BJP in Margao has tried out and succeeded to some extent. While I do not have any political leanings, I can't understand how a sizable number of the majority community in Margao side with this political outfit. Is it because it's close to their religious sentiments? Could it be that they do so because they have no choice other than supporting the blatantly corrupt and lethargic congress party? However, I resent that both he as well as the editor of Herald imply in their respective editorials that it was the vendors that went about closing down the capital, and the rest followed suit in full support. The mobs that went about consisted of young hooligans bent on using destruction, force and intimidation to shut down the city. There might have been a few politically connected vendors, but it was not as a result of all vendors lending support. If this was a Margao-specific bandh, why did the mob try to venture in Muslim populated davorlim on the outskirts? Was it an attempt to taunt them?
