I have read that 46% of the registered voters didn't vote, never mind 40% of
the American population!

---------------
It is true that 46% of the electorate were so apathetic that they could care
less who is in the White House while the rest of the country is fretting about
the next President.   Yet political parties have to take a hard look at the
practical aspects of their policies instead of just repeating the same mantra
of the print and TV pundits and Talking Heads.

Democratic Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama going all-out with
international trade treaties did not endear the Democratic Party establishment
to the industrial heartland in the mid-west which was the back-bone of the
Democratic Party.

It is surprising the Democrats the party of the working class did not see the
dislocation the trade treaties have on the working class in this country and
the working class in other countries in the trading block.  Additionally these
job and family economic disruptions are among the major factors causing illegal
immigration to America (who is shipping cheap corn and agricultural products to
Central America).

Yet thanks to President Trump we are likely to see a lowering of taxes and an
end to inheritance tax.  Now you know why the upper and middle class have a
real incentive to vote.
