> DEMONETISATION, > BADLY MANAGED > > ELVIDIO MIRANDA > > The country-wide demonetisation exercise conducted by the Central government under the leadership of prime minister Narendra Modi has exposed the government's inability of managing such an exercise which has led to the death of several people and alienated the Prime Minister from whatever goodwill the people of India had in him. This exercise was a `coup' that bodes very badly for the common men especially those who earn their living by the sweat of their brow. Modi has thus showed that he cannot lead from the front, but have made the common men suffer for his abrupt decision. It is now apparent that Modi should be asked to stand in long serpentine queues to exchange his own money and that he should not the given more than 4000 rupees for his daily expenses, only then will the people of India accept that the prime minister has led from the front in his so-called fight against black money. Also it is apparent that certain state and people had expected this demonetisation coming and have invested in real estate and gold in advance allegedly as they were given an early warning of this demonetisation. This smacks of double standards and injustice to the common men, who will definitely be disenchanted and withdraw their support to the prime minister who considers himself as the protector of the masses. > > >
