The stand taken by GSRP, in furtherance of Dr. JDS ideals, is to scrap MOPA, free Dabolim Airport from the clutches of the NAVY [which btw is Goa’s own Civilian Airport since 1955 – much before Operation Vijay]. GSRP is of the belief that MOPA can still be scrapped outright if GOANS prove that they have their backbones intact. It is a fact that except for GSRP all other political Parties have taken a stand that MOPA is inevitable and it cannot be stopped. That they are satisfied with the assurances given by the Union Defence Minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar that Dabolim and MOPA shall co-exist as Commercial Airports of Goa. GSRP has slammed this stand as a MEGA LIE. GSRP feels that if GOANS allow MOPA to be commissioned, it will be the BACK-DOOR MERGER of GOA into MAHARASHTRA, with GOA’S centrally located Civilian Airport lost to GOA forever. That the only way to avert this misfortune befalling on Goa and Goans is for GOANS to vote for ‘CANDLES’ on 4 February, 2017 for all candidates contesting on GSPR’S Ticket.
