Goa’s former Advocate General Atmaram Nadkarni has late last night removed that illegal red beacon he was using on his vehicle. Did it need a complaint to be filed for him to stop violating the law?
Now Atmaram Nadkarni besides owing an apology to the people of Goa for having abused his authority, must also tender an apology to the Supreme Court for having acted in clear contempt of its order by the unauthorized use of that red beacon. But all this the flamboyant and ego puffed Atmaram Nadkarni who is now the Additional Solicitor General of India will not care to do. But the very God fearing and devout pious soul that he claims to be, Atmaram Nadkarni would at least be answerable to the Almighty for this and all his other acts of omission and commission. Does my friend and colleague Atmaram Nadkarni need to be told that people in high positions should lead by example in strictly complying with the laws of the land?
