*INDIA 'KEY PLAYER' IN GLOBAL SPACE RACE, SAYS FOREIGN MEDIA AFTER ISRO'S RECORD 104 SATELLITES LAUNCH*
Isro's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle <http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Polar-Satellite-Launch-Vehicle> PSLV-C37 in a single payload weighing over 650kg (1,433 lb), on Wednesday (Feb.15,017) injected India's weather observation Cartosat-2 Series satellite and 103 ‘nano’ satellites, including 96 from the USA, and one each from Israel, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates, into orbit after a textbook lift-off from Sriharikota space centre. The NY Times said: "The launch was high-risk because the satellites, released in rapid-fire fashion every few seconds from a single rocket as it traveled at 17,000 miles an hour, could collide with one another in space if ejected into the wrong path." ISRO's low prices attracted international customers to launch 75 satellites last year from Sriharikota in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. Well done ISRO.
