Hi Menezes
I do receive Goanet in my email and notice that you are a regular
contributor. Most material what you post is very informative.
Your mention of a Do it youself site in the last issue of Goanet caught my
attention.
I was born, bread and buttered in Goa. In Goa I lived in Mapusa
although my father (surname Costa) has his ancestry in Curtorim and my mother
( maiden surname Ferrão) has ancestry in Aldona.
Am settled in Brazil since 1971. The city I live Recife a port in
northeast Brazil has a climate very similar to Goa execept seasons are inverted
as we are in the southern hemisphere.

Returning to the Do it yourself topic: We Goans do not like to
miss our typical Goan food but to prepare it, there is always an ingredient,
or implement you can´t find if you are not in Goa. Some times we try
substitutes or alternatives.

My question: Have you ever come across any publication which
describes a substitute for 1. SURA to make Sannas ?

              2. Toddy vinegar

                                      warm regards
