St. Inez Creek poses
major health hazard

The filthy state of the St.Inez creek is a major health hazard to Panaji
residents due to breeding of mosquito larvae which for a long time has been
unattended resulting in collection of plastic bottles, bags and the
discharge of fecal matter.
Word is doing the rounds that dengue, malaria and other water borne
diseases may affect the residents of St.Inez in particular and Panjim in
general since during this time of summer when it is hot and humid mosquitos
breed freely. Tdero prevent a major health disaster it would be in the
fitness of things to skim the surface of the entire creek as well as
excavate the length and breadth of the creek.
The Goverment, the CCP and the Health Dept. have to coodinate to avert a
major outbreak of water borne disease.
