------------------------------------------------------- CONVENTION OF THE GOAN DIASPORA FROM GOA INTO THE WORLD Lisbon, Portugal June 15-17, 2007 Details at: http://www.goacom.org/casa-de-goa/noticias.html -------------------------------------------------------
Re. above article I would like to make a few considerations: 1)It is wrong to misconstrue anti-BJP stance as as pro-Congress stand. Only vested interests do so. There are beautiful examples of people from both communities who took (and will continue to take) the courage and the risk to stand against the twin evils that have befallen us: BJP and the Congress. They do not need newcomers to sit in their judgement. 2)Those who view Goans as Catholics and non-Catholics do a great diservice to a society that strives to preserve its secular character when there are attempts to polarise the same. 3) Those who assume that SGF (whose commander is Mr. Churchil Alemao)has come as an alternative to Congress live in blissful ignorance.
