Tiatrist are not for Konkani I fully agree with you Also, I feel upto 70% of the Goan Christians are not for Konkani or Konknai Romi Script for that matter. Even though most of us speak konkani at home. Let me give a simple test (example). If at all Romi Script given official status then what? Start of new Konkani Daily in Romi Script ? how many will read it or how many will buy it ? Will it survive ? Going by the past experience, I dont think so. Our Tiatists spend about Rs.50,000 per week on Tiatr ads on Herald (Sunday alone about Rs.18,000) Imagine, if the same is diverted to new Konkani Daily it would get about Rs.2 lakhs per month. But will they (Tiatrists) willing to do it ? Our Tiatist for Konkani? I don't think so, Another example, annual Tiatr Day (17th April every year since 1996) at Kala Academy, in which 7 or 8 senior Tiatrists are felicitated for their outstanding contribution to the development of Tiatr Stage in Goa. But where are the tiatrists on this big occasion? I have been complaining about this for the last 3 years, but who cares ? Tiatrists for Konkani?
