Delete Pontius Pilate from Creed The Catholics , the Church have to utter the name of Pilate, when ever they recite the creed. True Jesus was crucified by Pontus Pilate, but the Jews took the blood of Jesus upon themselves and their children. He alone is not responsible. His act of washing his hands to absolve himself of guilt, responsibility of murder of innocent was an unparallel excuse. He was severely taken to task for this transgression of justice and his end though debatable is purported to be just and fair punishment
Over the centuries why does the Catholic Church remember him in the CREED, along side with Jesus, there by keeping the memory of this unpardonable, unforgivable villain of crucifixion. Do we still need to glorify him and celebrate his existence recalling his name for this dastardly act of brutal murder by devoutly reciting his name.? It is in the fitness of things, keeping with the sentiments of the faithful, the creed be modified and name of Pontius Pilate deleted. How can we continue to relish his ignomious memory.? The sacred prayer ,creed that Catholics recite so often must not have place for such a disgraceful ,tyrant, oppressive ruler in the creed Nelson Lopes Chinchinim
