It is, indeed, creditable that Frederick Noronha is making an attempt to breathe new life into Goa's flagship mailing list, Goanet. I for one have been absent from this forum for some years now, though I am an Admin on the Goanet FB page.
My enforced absence from Goanet was because there was a set of posters, who if they disagreed with what you wrote would literally hound you with mails. If you didn't reply because of other pressing matters, your inbox would be flooded with demands to send in a reply. This hounding got so bad at one time, that I preferred to take sanyas from Goanet. While at times, this attitude on pouncing on a poster made life for the readers interesting, it wasn't easy for the one at the receiving end, I'm sure. Fortunately, all that is behind us now as some of these posters are no longer on this forum, some for reasons that ere beyond their control ;-) This was the reason why many people who would have otherwise posted interesting stuff on Goanet simply quit the forum rather than being harrangued. While I have not been active on this forum, I've been a lurker and have been reading the posts. I feel that Gabe Menezes and Roland Francis have kept the ship float with their interesting posts. I wish Frederick all the very best in his efforts to revive Goanet.
