Plumbers were of no help, when I turned to an engineer for advice. I
discovered that the  old fashioned round float valve did a poor job of control.
He picked up a paddle valve that cost very little.   The metal arm that
connects to the paddle has a life of about five years before corroding under
water.  It unscrews easily. My long torment had ended.      Pawan  was also a
great help with the new toilet installation at the convent. We did treat him to
a cup of tea.
