Aivao YC rally to beat Don Bosco Oratory
Aivao Youth Club twice came from behind to down Don Bosco Oratory 3-2 in
the Goa Football Association Third Division League match played at
Taleigao ground, on Friday.
Starting on an attacking front, Don Bosco Oratory scored first in the
18th minute through Flynson Fernandes which turned out to be the only
goal scored in the first session.
With both teams balance in the second half, Aivao managed to net the
equalising goal at the hour mark through Pandurang Gawas. Back to
square, Don Bosco attacked in numbers and used their flanks to attack
the side and restored the lead in the 75rh minute through Johnson
Kanjulna. But their joys were short-lived as Manoj Gawas scored the
leveller within two minutes. The teams played end to end football in the
last quarter of the game and it was seen that neither side were content
with a point. With just 10 minutes to go, Damodar Naik gave Aivao YC the
lead for the first time in the came and sustained it till the very end
to walk away with the three points.
