From: Carlos Peres da Costa < Hi Eric      Regarding the German ships sunk in
Goa in WWII  Here is a small piece of info to add.      I was born in Sept 1939
in Mapusa. Goa. My dad  (Dr.Peres da Costa)  had a dental clinic in Mapusa
since 1937 and I remember well  he had as clients,  two germans  who were
sailors in theseships. When the ships caught fire , they jumped and swam to the
coast.  One of them settled in Anjuna- Assagão and would come to my dad´s
clinic for dental treatment.        Also when the war ended, there were some
goods which well salvaged. I remember that even some pencils bearing Nuremberg
were sold by hawkers in Goa.                                            regards
