NO ACTION IN PUBLIC INTEREST ?
It is emphasized that every citizen has a right to vote, but everytime there is
such an occasion, many citizens cannot vote as they find their names not on/
removed from the list inspite of holding an EPIC card! A program on Television
discussing this issue had a lawyer advising action of exercising a "Challenge
vote" or "Tender vote' aftershowing your Epic/Aadhar etc; if your name not
there/someone already voted in your name respectively. This was also circulated
on Whats Ap but I read a supposedly EC clarification this was not allowed! Will
the EC officially publically advise? I also note that when people specifically
ask under RTI details of Goa Governor official travels or PMO about expenses in
connection with PM's travels local and abroad, no answers or wishy washy
answers are given like not coming under purview of single authority/ organized
by various authorities and so on, hence no records for reply to be given! Same
for expendirure on poll campaigns. We live in a Democracy with laws and rules
which seem not to apply to our elected representatives who are in fact our
employees! We have a right to vote and a right to transparency and
accountability from those we vote and pay for to serve us in office, do we not?
