Our press in Goa is so bad that i dont feel like attending and speaking of any matter pertaining on development and damage to our beloved territory of Goa and our rivers in future. I spoke yesterday on several topics like CoP building coming up on river front at the jetty, St Inez creek polluting the river Mandovi, Aivao village atrocities to their children ruining their livelihood of toilet facilities and playing ground etc, Samadhi coming up on the Miramar beach thus decreasing the lenght of entry into the beach which cannot be compared to Marina Beach where Jayalalita samadhi is appeared to be cleared for it compared to our tiny Miramar beach and if more Samadhi comes in future for other CMs then our Miramar beach will be called Samadhi Miramar beach, and the third and important point stressed on my speech was Casinos dumping sewage and collecting it and transporting through tankers to the STP plant at Tonca which it is overflowing its capacity and discharging into the creek. IT is now stamped after a long time by NGT which previously was considered by politicians and interested MLAs as Nullah to use and help for construction for existing high rise buildings around the creek for selfish interests and at the CoP our Capt of Ports did not object construction of terminal building which is going to house Casinos like Big Daddy and I have jokingly called as Big Mummy. Using this jetty as pleasure trips by casinos docking there just to satisfy its urge of tourists after damaging our jetty is very bad and our ( Panjimites) who used to visit this jetty olden times for site seeing is gone forever. I have now attained 75 years of age and seen all good good things of Panjim including clear waters at the St Inez creek where i used to fish tigurs and other fishes etc and now it is all lost. It is pity that our reporters present here at the meeting yesterday at GOA SCIENCE CENTRE at Miramar in presence of IAS officer and local MLA Babush Monserrate including Dist. Collector and other dignitaries , consultant from Ministry Affairs etc and from our state but nothing was reported of my speech nor my name was mentioned in any of the dailies. It is pity that the reporting in Goa is going weak and I feel myself shameful.What is the use of attending such meetings and functions?
