Our Ribandar Milroc has been one of the very successful complexes in Goa.
The complex caters to about 40 buildings and around 400 flats.
Those who have lived here long enough will solemnly vouch that Mr. Motiram
Solanki who runs an official and licensed supermarket within the complex
has served the entire community for decades with utmost and caring
dedication. This may be the only supermarket in Goa that has served the
entire complex and its neighborhood from dawn to dusk with a very
never-ending kind smile.
Next to the complex on the lane going down to Ribandar there is also an
official government outlet selling vegetables and fruits. So there was no
reason whatsoever for a few hungry and now idle members of the Milroc
Society to start this unlawful sale of goods probably for their pecuniary
gains.All these members who are in various businesses would have to lead by
example by themselves paying from tonight in their personal businesses all
the taxes including GST as mandated by law.
Going down Memory lane to 2000, I recollect how our then Milroc builders
Shekhar and Prasad were trying their very best to ensure that this Milroc
Ribandar community is taken good care off. Many of our residents who have
been in the complex long enough, will be testimony as to how the current
Chairman use to raise a ruckus at every meeting where howling and flinging
of Chairs at the residents meeting was a norm. But now this businessman
Charlie wants every resident to be well behaved. My boy, what was Good for
the Goose is now Good for the Gander.
Today the authorities have rightly stepped in and cracked the whip, seizing
all the illegal stuffbeing sold.Crime must never pay!
Let us commend the Chief Secretary, our North Goa Collector, Deputy
Collector and all the other law abiding authorities for having adhered to
the rule of law and for not having succumbed to these now impoverished
thugs who were attempting to make hay while this COVID-19 crisis survives.
This I will never allow in my life time.
