When the political manipulating bully of all times Babush Monseratte assured the people of Panaji in May last year that he would remove those Casinos from the Mandovi within 100 days, what he must have actually meant was that that he would within three months craftily jump ship and as always selfishly take a political suicidal dive into the BJP and unshackle himself from the rape and other serious criminal cases while allowing his current blatant illegal constructions all over to continue untroubled. He is a typical politician who promises heaven before an election but gives hell afterwards with broken promises. The character of a person can be revealed not by the promises he makes but by the promises he keeps. It is better not to make promises to people that you know you have no intention of keeping. False promises hurt those very people you deceive. As Bernard Baruch, the American financier and statesman astutely commented ‘’ Vote for the person who promises the least; he will be the least disappointing’’! Chief Minister Pramod Sawant during that election campaign last year had accused Babush Monseratte of having serious criminal cases under every possible section of the Indian Penal Code. ‘From Rape to every other criminal offence under every law, Babush Monseratte has been booked for it all’ is what Pramod Sawant had thundered at that BJP public meeting in Panaji. The rest is now history with the BJP now proven to be a very Safe Haven for those with Criminal charges. A deep in the Ganges is even futile.
