POLITICIANS ARE USING UNBRIDLED POWER The Supreme Court has been told that there are 4,442 pending cases where MPs and MLAs face trial in criminal cases in different courts. There are 413 cases where punishment is imprisonment for life! It is reported that Yogi Aditnath heading UP government has the most with 35 sitting legislators accused with heinous offences. The data sent by High Courts shows many cases pending for a very long time and in several cases non bailable arrest warrants issued by trial courts were yet to be executed, despite there being special courts ordered to fast track these cases. The way Rhea Chakroborty case is politicized and Kangana Ranaut office demolished drawing severe displeasure by the High Court shows how far politicians will go for votes and using all means for selective revenge or political vendetta. Parliament and Vidhan Sabhas are controlled and more or less gagged.The EC and Supreme Court seem to have left it to the political class and the people to clean the system, both having been corrupted and manipulated. The excuse of Corona adds to the problem! Unless the Apex court strongly intervenes, Democracy and our Constitution are in great peril.
