There are many Gonsalves and others in Bengal/Bangladesh. Most have no connection with Goa, but were converted by the Portuguese no doubt. My friend, the late Paul Gonsalves (who founded EQUATIONS, Bangalore), was the son of a Bishop -- an Anglican Bishop at that. Apart from the Portuguese-influenced name, he had no connection with Goa.
