The Panaji MLA Babush Monserrate has been controlling and manipulating the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) for over a decade. While the CCP has been embroiled in so many scams it has been enveloped in huge corruption at all levels.
It is an irony that the Panaji MLA and his henchman who has been the Mayor for the last two years are both involved in serious criminal cases pending before various Courts including the High Court. While betraying his voters and joining the BJP in July 2019, the Panaji MLA was amongst other things promised that his criminal cases would be wound up. But fortunately the Courts are not run by politicians. Having witnessed the developments on Goa’s political turf for the last five decades, I don’t think there is any other politician in Goa that has switched over to so many political parties as Babush Monserrate. So we could safely designate the Panaji MLA as Goa’s Prominent Political Prostitute. On the other thing that Babush Monserrate frequently changes nothing more needs to be said. We have been publicly warned about it by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in May 2019. The whole world including the Courts are now aware of it all. So, in this year, while Goa celebrates 60 years of Liberation, the voters of Panaji need to liberate themselves from the shackles of Babush Monserrate and the puppets whose strings he pulls, by voting against his entire Panel on Saturday 20th March at the CCP polls. On Saturday 20th March, let us put ourselves, Panaji and Goa first to stop the decay, the chaos, the broken promises and the stench of corruption that we have suffered for too long. Let us have the courage to vote wisely and decisively against the Babush Monserrate panel at the CCP. Fortunately, Babush Monserrate has just another year to go as Panaji MLA before he is reduced and consigned to political dust ending the misery of Panaji and its residents.
