Akundzada is the new PM. Baradar is his deputy. The Taliban will be less restrictive with women now. The Taliban are shooting in the air. The Taliban will allow people with passports and visas to leave. Just leave those sixth century violent tribesman to themselves. Now that America has left, leave that god forsaken part of the planet to itself. By shining a light on their every move you are giving them importance they don’t really have. You are creating straw men. We are all global citizens. A given. We must help those in need. Another given. But these hardscrabble people are best left to themselves. A worthy exception to the general rule. The only way to improve them is to let them tackle twenty-first century problems with sixth century solutions.
