Hi Gilbert

Please see below some brief comments interspersed within your four points.

I am ONLY commenting on this post because I have been mentioned by name. I would like to make four short points.

1. This gratuitous post says much about the 'deep concern' that Cornel feels for the Dalits and a lack of dialogue between these two guys on the brutality that Dalits suffer in India.

--CORNEL: The specific theme generated by Bhandare was about fascists and not about the Dalits. Elsewhere, however, I had engaged with you about the Dalits when you had made an utterly strange comment that, the "Dalits do not suffer caste discrimination, they suffer social discrimination." I hope you recall this view of yours!

2. It is a pity that in about 5000 years of world history, Cornel knows only the names of three fascists, who happened to be Catholic. Very coincidental, for a guy who claims to have an "interest" in history.

--CORNEL: For you to conclude that I only know three fascists who happened to be Catholics is pretty daft. My previous posts on named fascists included a long list from several places including South America. I had also referred to left-wing extremists like Stalin, Mao zed Thung (one of many spellings of his name) and of course Pol Pot. Perhaps you have a short memory Gilbert or expected a repeat of my long list. I opted instead for just three names from recent European history as likely to be familiar to the Goanet readership. It would be totally inappropriate to go back to 5000 years of world history as you seem to suggest.

3. Cornel telling Bhandare about fascism is like "Taking coal to Newcastle". Perhaps Cornel's knowledge of the RSS is equally stunted as his knowledge of the world's fascists dictators.

--CORNEL: The issue under brief discussion was "who is a fascist?" I referred to three who could be confirmed from history texts. I do know a lot about the RSS from newspaper and magazine reading but do not consider these (readings) as substantive historically. However, now that you have raised this as an issue perhaps your 'sound' knowledge of the RSS could be shared by the rest of us on Goanet.

4. Bhandare with his RSS affiliation can teach Cornel much about fascism. But then, teaching Cornel does not take much smarts.:=)) It takes much time and patience ... with a lot of 'Saiba kakut kor'. :=))

--CORNEL: I'll take your word for the above and your implicit assumption that a medical doctor somehow has the knowledge to impart to a practising scholar on issues like fascism. As I have never questioned your expertise in medicine, but know that you like to respond to everything else under the sun, my obvious question to you is whether there is anything you do NOT know outside medicine?
 Regards
Cornel
