Dear Albert:
With due respect to your religious belief I would say
that one benefit of Worshipping the Sun god is at
least you can see him. Adds to the credibility doesnt
it? also gives us tangible benefits heat, light and
vitamin D being some of them...

In hinduism the most powerful hymn is the gayatri
mantra and that is adressed to Savitur i.e. the Sun
god
