For those interested in the future of tourism (and I imagine, that would impact Goa, Goan economy to a fair degree), the Canadian Broadcasting-radio is running 'climate change' related broadcasts called Climate Currents. Its audio format and really interesting... http://www.cbc.ca/thecurrent/climatecurrents.html
There are agencies springing offering redemption/karma to offset the air pollution a traveller would causes by making the trip...so, if you travel x number of miles, you pay the agency, x amount. The agency in turn will use the money to plant trees I believe in Canada. I would think the agencies would spent a portion of the money is the places the tourist are visiting. As well, Independent in the UK (http://www.independent.co.uk/) is running interesting thought-provoking climate-change related articles. And with the UK (raining crazy)/Australia (its rather cold in some parts)/Brazil (their summer was uncomfortably hot)....climate-change is a reality and upon us. Curious know if bro ^hurhill has heard of climate-change? The prospect of Goan politicians comprehending the impact (Coco beach is gone they say) of climate-change, is to say the least rather scary. Of course, this would fall into the debate about the proposed new airport for Goa...is it really worth it? Errr....gotta go, they are calling my carbon-causing flight......... PPN.
