Hi Carmo
Re your response to Edgar, not only is the cashew, mango, coconut, jackfruit
etc to be found in sunny Florida. These are to be found in much of South
America including Brazil as well as in Cuba and other Caribbean islands and
Central America of course. In some places, cashew extracted/processed juice
(without the strong flavour or sharpish taste), along with pineaple, orange
juice etc is available as a breakfast drink in hotels but I have yet to
experience this as a breakfast drink in Goa. Hope to look for it out of
curiosity the next time I am there.

I was led to understand that the jackfruit and possibly the cashew, in
Brazil, were taken there from South East Asia. These were identical to the
jackfruit and cashew found on ancestral property like mine in Goa. However, I
have to disappoint you by saying that, in my estimation, the fruit around your
Indian Harbour Beach backyard and markets was no match for similar, but more
wholesome fruit found in Goa. Although sometimes larger, as of course most
things in America, such as incredibly obese people living on some of the most
gastly and tasteless American fried food possible, mere size did not
compensate for the fruit being qualitatively better I am afraid! However, I did
note that with the virtual collapse of the housing market across America
generally, and the very weak dollar, some comparable property there was now
seemingly cheaper than in Goa. Of course, I stand corrected on this issue but
what I say here is definitely not intended to take the wind out of your
 sails!

Edgar,

As much as I hate to take the wind off your Goan Sails, I have to admit that
we have bigger, tastier cashews and cashew nuts in Indian Harbour Beach,
Florida. We also have Mancurad Mangoes, Guavas, Jackfruit, Papayas and
Tender Coconuts. They grow in my backyard here in Florida.

Best Regards,
Dr Carmo D'Cruz
