In response to my message, Albertinae Almeida writes: "Dalit Christians get
marginalised both amongst the Christians, and outside. So, in my humble
opinion, consequently, there has to be work towards removing/tackling the
discrimination both within and outside. And there is no question of one
challenge being prioritised over the other. Both have to be taken on
simultaneously."
Would not the deman for reservations for 'dalit' Christians be stronger if
there was an effort to deal with the discrimination from within
Christianity? George Menezes' article clearly shows that this effort is
feeble, at best.
