Hi Cornel,
I was expecting a response from you to this post. I felt likely you would be
correcting my proverb. The proverb below should read "One reaps what one sows
... sooner or later."
So I do not know if it was the original proverb that you were referring to.:=))
The various quotes in the post, very much apply to me and I hope it applies to
you too. And all Goans can learn from them.
Right now with America gearing for elections next year, I am reading a book
"Take It Back" by James Carville and Paul Begala. These two guys were President
Bill Clinton's campaign managers. Likely you may not know them in England or
elsewhere. They are smart democrats are not flaming liberals.
Carville and Bagala charge the Democratic loss over the last 7 years was
because, "Many Liberals share the conceit that they are intellectually
superior." And they further add, "Intellectual elitism is an arrogance the
Democrats can not afford." The authors go on to "attack the pointy-headed
intellectuals stuck in the clouds, trying to impose their liberal notions of
social engineering on the salt-of-the-earth" commoners. Does not this remind
you of some posts one reads on Goanet?:=)) The authors recommend that instead
of bemoaning the deficiencies of the Republicans, the Democrats should get
their own act together to "Take it Back".
I also think you would like knowing that Republican Alan Greenspan in his book
and interviews called President Clinton "The best Republican American
President". I better stop here before Mario resurrects himself.
Kind Regards, GL

Hi Gilbert: For purposes of clarification only, can I assume that you do not
except yourself from your words of wisdom below?
