Pushing his daughter's name as candidate for the Murmugoa seat that he vacated,
Churchill Alemao has not done anything different from what one expects of a
politician. The Rane father-and-son combine is one example, Dayanand
Bandodkar-Shashikala Kakodkar is another. Though Joaquim and Churchill have now
share the ministerial spoils, why should not Valanka?
If Churchill could form a new party and fight the assembly election against
Luizinho Faleiro and come out victorious, there is hope that if Valanka decides
to contest she could defeat the official Congress nominee, perhaps Francisco
Sardinha. The consequence of Valanka winning or even contested could mean that
Churchill may be given cold-shoulders in the cabinet. The fear of such an
outcome has perhaps made him change his tune. This should not come as a
surprise. Hopping from Dabolim to Mopa and back, Chuchill is not sure where to
"land". So is the case with regard to his quest for securing the ticket for
ticket. Any "ground" is good enough for Churchill to land.
He keeps us amused and that is what really matters. The man whose name he has
been given must be really rolling in laughter (at least his bones) in the grave.
