CRYcket 2007 scheduled for 9 November 2007 in Kuwait The annual soft ball cricket festival held by the Friends of CRY Club (FOCC), Kuwait will be held on Friday 9 November at the Ahmadi Hockey Grounds. As usual the tournaments will be conducted in two age groups of Under12 and Under 14. Twelve teams are expected to compete in each category simultaneously in a day long event that will be crowned with the knock-out phase under lights.
As is the practice in the last few years all the teams will sport catchy coloured cricket kits and the thirty games will be controlled by qualified and experienced umpires from the Kuwait Cricket Associations (KCA) Umpires Panel. FOCC representatives are in the process of registering teams till 2 November and the draw and captains meeting will be held on 3 November. The day promises to be a day of fun and frolic for the whole family. While the cricket takes centre stage an area for games and amusements will keep tiny tots and teens entertained. ROLO, the popular cricket spectator sport will keep your nerves on edge while your palate will tingle with hot snacks and meals from the Udayam stall. The traditional nearly new bazaar called Buy for CRY will shock you with bargains across a variety of goods. Importantly the CRY Table will provide you with an exposure to the crux and purpose of this event which is to sensitize everybody, especially children of the dire needs of those who are underprivileged in developing countries. CRY, which is based in India focuses on creating awareness of the rights of children denial of which leads to them being underserved. It will be recalled that the Gladiators won the U12 trophy while the CCC Blacks walked away with the U14 championship in last years event. The presentation ceremony at the end of the day will honour every single player with certificates in addition to awarding the winners trophies and medals. There will be other spectator prizes and draws as well to keep everybody entertained throughout the day during the Diwali weekend. That is why FOCC says in CRYcket 2007 everybody wins!
