I have had occasions when I felt threatened in a society that promotes good
will to all men. Yes, the British Society as it has been described is made up
of many races, faiths & ethnic backgrounds. Without these, "The British
Society" would not exist as it does today. This is not to say it would be any
different if the inflow of migrants were any different, just that there are
issues also within the migrants' areas too, be they Polish, Gujrati, Somalia!
The killing of any human being is abhorrent, several hundreds are murdered or
killed by violent acts in India every day............... many commit suicide
every day also. The main culprits of this are the spouse & family, mainly
because of money. Strangers who kill are rare when you count up the bodies.
The Goan who was attacked and viciously assaulted & murdered by this gang of
youths was another statistic to add to the ever increasing savagery & the
number of feral youths runnjing amok in our cities, and many towns also, today.
Some parts of London, Manchester, Liverpool and many of the larger cities &
towns have taken over the streets after dark.
It is quite insidious & unacceptable but what are the parents doing about it.
Well in the case of any under-18yr old the parents are supposed to be
responsible for their up-bringing. In many cases, the parents themselves are
the product of parents who were uneducated in social responsibility due to
THEIR parents not doing their bit to restore order.
But you cannot blame ALL parents for ALL the ills of society, it does not
apply only to United Kingdom, and dont think for a minute that I back the
irresponsible people who allow their offspring to roam the streets in hoodies
to mask themselves and commit anti-social behaviour.
We are all aghast that this is still going on1 We have had this problem for
the past decade & a half whereby the town centres are a no-go area for the
majority of law-abiding citizen. Many are too afraid to come out of the houses
after dark. There are muggings and rapes and all sorts of things happening all
over the country, but this also happens in parts of every country around the
world. It just seems or appears to everyone, including the residents of the UK
that we have the most unsocial group of teens & those in their early twenties
than any other country.
I am sure the UK is at the top of the list, closely followed by France,
Germany & many of the Eastern Eupean countries also. I am an employer & have
hired local people to work for us. In the first two years in my town, I had to
dismiss 17, yes seventeen workers ....... they were all from this town where I
live.
Why you may say, well my CCTV found drinks being served to friends and
family, but undercharged, sometimes by 75% of the bill, they are sacked
immediately! I cannot get the money from the wages due because it is illegal
for me to stop any money from their wages due. I can stop shortages in the
registers but CANNOT deduct the money due to my business.
Other times, we see stock (bottles wines or spirits) used up but not sold,
they get fired also, then we have the lazy ones, who were bright and cheerful
at the interview & worked well for the first week or two, then came in dirty,
unwashed and not at all presentable.
They were FORCED to find work by the government or they did not receive their
State Benefits (job seekers allowance), so they were fired and could then say
they tried to get a job but were dismissed................
Its a vicious cycle with the local youths, both girls and boys. We decided
to install living-in staff in the apartment above the business, installing
Australian & New Zealand staff. What a difference! The takings went up, the
business boomed. Happy, chatty & willing to work long hours too! They made
the money they wanted, we got the staff we wanted.
That lasted about two years and then of course the Eastern European countries
opened up & the Aussies & Kiwis dried up, they were not around much anymore, so
we hired Polish, Latvian, Czech Republic, Slovenian, Slovakian & Hungarian
staff. Their work ethic is marvellous, they are on time, they follow the
rules, they are presentable, tidy & above all else, they are honest.
The complaints we receive from some customers is zenophobic to the extreme!
Some say they will not come into our premises if we hire only foreigners, yet
they will not listen to WHY I hire foreigners, and I have said this many times,
if you want to go elsewhere you are welcome to do so. But they know that we
have good workers, also chatty, albeit with an accent (so what, they UNDERSTAND
& SPEAK English, so there is no issue).
They are polite, dont have a chip on their shoulder about this and that.
They are earning FIVE times more on the UK minimum wage (£5.52 per hour which
equates roughly to just under Rs 450 per hour, so you can judge for yourself).
We feel that the British youth of today, and I speak in the Service Industry
level here, not the professional students who do well and come from better off
backgrounds, they feel disinfranchised, not belonging to anything or anywhere.
They are rebelling but have no cause to do so. This country is not a poor
country, it is a rich country, but we see homeless people about, we see youths
with so much money, the amount of money spent in one night by today's youth is
equal to what a hard-working Goan has spent a month accumulating by working
much longer hours than this youth has.
The Goan who was attacked, and I dont know the reasons or the case behind it,
is just one statistic of the rebellious youth, the drunken youth, the drug
taking youth, the bad-mouthing, foul language used youth, the homeless and the
youth with a home, the youth who comes from the ever-increasing one-parent
family, the youth who comes from parents who do not care what he (or she) is
doing late into the night.............
I have a business in the town centre of a busy Berkshire town, we do not sell
to youths, we do not want them in our premises, but there are many out there
who will sell anything to anyone & to hell with the consequences,
..........."as long as its not in my house......" attitude, but then you need
only go to Southall or Leicester, Bradford or other large towns where the Asian
population is the majority, you will see Sikh & Muslim youths fighting each
other, knives & guns are also used, fights break out between them too. This
was brought over by THEIR parents, the anti-social link is in every part of the
British Society, including the Indians in the midst of it all, seldom reported
by the national press, but the local newspapers carry greater detail.
British Society is not prepared to take action against crime as it does not
involve them immediately, but once there is a headline grabbing / attention
seeking newspapers reporting the crime properly, then we get the MP's howling
for amendments to the law.
And the whole thing is repeated again the next day, the day after and day
after that. We will not be able to put things right by only the law & the
courts doing their bit, we as parents must also shoulder much of the
responsibility, it's all about decent behaviour. What does one do when the
parent is also the culprit?
The loud-mouthed abusive parent who threatens their little darlings' teachers
because of punishment metted out to the pupil (not physical as this is against
the law, even touching a pupil to pat them on the head or back for good
behaviour), for the extra work dished out for homework, or being kept back at
school for detention, for bad marks etc............
Yes we have much to be concerned about, British Society, pre-1966 no longer
exists in any form except within the higher echelons of society, the
well-educated & well-brought-up children who will inherit their father or
mother's role in society, the bankers & the big-earners from "old money". Some
have fallen through the net over the years but they are so few that they could
all be named & shamed.
I would not call British society as derranged, it is just like any other
country, with its faults but we are to blame for them, our law makers and the
parents also. We do not permit discipline in schools, we do not permit any
structure in childrens lives at an early age. What I learned in LHS in Goa in
the 1950's would have been deemed child abuse in the UK today, yet the
discipline, and this is what it is, would be alien to them now. A sad fact of
life. I feel very sorry for the family of this Goan man who was so cruely
murdered, because of the colour of his skin.
Had he been white, the attack would have been for another reason, surely as I
sit here in front of my computer, I can guarantee that there would have been
another reason to attack him. WHAT the reason is will only be known in the
mind of the attackers, the feral youth of British Society today, a sad end to a
life full of hope for the future. May your attackers get their just desserts,
by the law & by the courts. I will follow this case to see exactly what the
police, the crown prosecution service & the courts do to next.
I would also like to see what the parents of these children will say, the
youngest child of whom was only 14 years old!!!!!!!

The killing of the Goan youth on a walkabout in Southampton goes to show
the mental well being of British society. Having lived there for 6 years I
missed several occasions of British thuggery. Does Cornel have an answer?
