GLOBAL WARMING.
( Innozzie A. Dias, Jakarta, Indonesia.)
Let's wake up to 'Global warming' call to face the fact that every individual
breathing on this universe is directly or indirectly responsible for the high
rise
in Co2.
Yes, Global warming is a complex phenomenon and it is difficult to predict in
details the adverse effects on this planet. But by continous research,
scientists learn more about how global warming is affecting the planet, and
many agree that certain consequences are likely to occur if current trends
continue.
USA , China and India are recognized as the major pollutants, generating carbon
dioxite causing severe imbalances in the atmosphere, ultimately resulting in
global warming.
Global warming with the rise in ocean levels is going to be disastrous for all
coastal areas like Goa and states having import exports hubs.
Research shows that, coal burning and emission of smoke by automobiles are the
main culprits weaving the blanket in atmosphere - traping the sun's heat,
thereby making the entire universe a hot oven.
We all are not environmental specialist, but simple and basic steps in
safeguarding our own surroundings is the biggest contribution to the world, for
which our furture generations will be grateful to us.
Awareness among citiizens is the first and basic step which the Government,
NGO's and local cultural clubs must undertake.
Government decision and approvals to industries emitting CO2 must be strictly
on
the social compliance and norms related to the industry.
Ban plastic bags, controlled and restricted usage of automobiles, planting
trees in our areas, are some of the few steps in helping nature to help itself.
Every individual's small contribution in safeguarding their own natural
surroundings itself would be a great step to fight against the global warming.
Co2 emission must be reduced or lets be ready to have ourselves reduced to
dust ! And no more it can be said as natural disasters, but 'man made
disasters'
Save GOA, Save INDIA, Save WORLD !
