Dear Dominic, I appreciate you taking time to air your views and I accept your reasoning. But I do not expect people to take what I have to say on a particular subject as gospel truth. It is only how I evaluate things. I congratulate people when they do good as according to my understanding. The same may be bad as according to others. But it does not bother me. I criticise. likewise, when people do bad things. But my criticism is not based on biases, i.e. negative. My criticisms are based on the alternative that could be followed to achieve good instead of the bad.
I have always said that I had very high hopes in Manohar Parrikar, being what he is. But he ran riot when he should have been himself as we believed him to be. But then people project themselves differently to gain confidence and revert back to reality when accepted. I always like to say that I deeply believed that Manohar had come to stay (longer than Bandodkar). And at that time I had felt good despite his back-stabbing Sardinha. In politics, there should be no considerations towards others who do not perform the way they are required to perform for the public and the welfare of the state. But what Manohar did after taking over is a sad page in Goa's history. Hitler was also very capable. Did he not almost bring the world to its knees? I think Nelson Mandela was more capable than Hitler x X put together. I have never found favour with statistics. They are for people who live by comparisons. For me bad is bad and good is good. Needless to say that mediocre, for me, is mediocre and it does not become good just because it is better than bad and much more closer to good. I note that you have indeed a communal mind-set. To be communal one does not need to belong to a particular religion or race/caste whathaveyou. It is displayed when you talk about Catholics that have found favour with Manohar Parrikar. Manohar Parrikar will never have a person, whether a catholic or whatever who opposes his views. He has always built his life surrounded by 'yesmen'. This is my understanding. -:)) And I shall not be wrong for saying that. For me, persons who surround themselves with yesmen are bad administrators. I have always believed that criticism is the mother of all good. No block-buster movie is a block-buster if the movie critics have not raved about it. And film producers do not antagonise film critics, do they?? Can they? Has there been any case of film producers purchasing or influencingr film critics?? If Allen D'Sa, whom I know very well or Sanjit Rodrigues whom I do not want to know more about wud have never found favour with Manohar Parrikar if they had spoken from their heart of what is right and what is wrong. Once again, do hold your views which are dear to you. And I shall hold mine. It shall not bother me any if you go ahead and wet your pants over Manohar Parrikar. I have always been blunt and at many occasions I have been told so. But my being blunt has never upset me because I believe that bluntness brings out the real in a person.
