Arrey shee baba, you are making me sound like a bedde now. Just to clear up the

Jesus. The stories surrounding this man, possibly a political activist not
prominent enough to be mentioned in Jewish or Roman history books, have now
been magnified to the extent to make us believe by the likes of Dinesh D'souza,
that he is single-handedly responsible for the civilisation of humanity. That
to me strikes as gross arrogance on the part of Christian theists.

I have no problems with theism. My own views are agnostic in nature but truth
be told tending towards theism. What I do have a problem with are men who try
to create a God in their own image and these images are sometimes rather ugly.

Hi Selma,

Na gho saibini! It is unlikely that you will blame the faults in India on
Mahatma Gandhi, Gita or the Hindu religion. You are too intelligent for that
thinking process. Hence, I definitely know the whiskey glass was / is not in
your hands.

As regards the rest of your post, reproduced above: As I see it, your
underlying problem is you have primarily a difficulty in believing in religion.
To quote you, "My own views are agnostic in nature ...."

Hence to justify your agnosticism, you are very much seeking reasons not to
believe in religion. No question you have read widely. Yet are you
water-boarding (artificial forceful-drowning) yourself in your own readings;
and in your understanding / interpretations of what you read? The sad part you
are using the flimsiest rationale to justify to yourself why you should not
believe in religion. With all due respect, your logic is curved. :=)) YOUR
claim "What I do have a problem with are men who try to create a God in their
own image" is soo standing on your head :=))... as you well know. I am not
going to waste your time explaining why this statement is backwards.

Recently I saw a lung cancer patient that I previously treated. He had
emphysema before I treated him. I asked him. "Why are you still smoking?" He
replied, "Because my wife smokes." While the guy was being honest, blaming
somebody else for one's own misjudgments in not very smart.

On an average I meet 2-3 patients in a year who after I talk to them for an
hour, about how we are going to treat their cancer, they say to me, "Why should
I go through all this treatment?". My response is short and sweet, "The choice
is yours. It is your life that is on the line."

Sorry for giving you (and others) some 'tough love'. Yet who am I to cast
judgement on someone else? Only God's grace and YOUR free-will to accept the
grace can keep you in HIS embrace. Like you, I would like this to be my last
post on this thread.

Kind Regards, GL
