These sort of incidences happen all the time.
1. In Mumbai a police man picked a girl and her friend from the street IN
FRONT of the police station and raped one of them. Action was taken
2. An accoutant and three of his mates were constantly harassing women in the
womens compartment every day on the Mumbai local train.
Trap was laid and they were arrested
Similarly the tour operators should know what to do in these circumstances.
NOW THE GIRLS HAVE TO TAKE THE TOUR OPERATORS TO JUSTICE AND DEMAND
COMPENSATION FOR THE TRAUMA THEY SUFFERED.
Will the girls OR their parents do that? ie Take action against the tour
operators?
I doubt it.
If they do, four things will happen.
1. They will get some sort of compensation plus an apology.
2. There will be a big whoo haa as to what the case is all about, and the
police will get involved or should get involved.
3. The Rail operators will be involved as well and the next batch of trainees
that go by that route will have to be monitored.
4. The culprits (due to this action) will and should be brought to justice.
(Its not one against one it is a group, so some one among the group will tell
who is guilty and who is not, if not the whole group should be dismissed ans
example to others that follow).
SADLY, THE LAID BACK ATTITUDE OF GOANS MEANS, NOTHING WILL BE DONE.
Others will say it is OK for you to give shermao from abroad, things are
different in Goa.
So be it.
