Judging from the header in this message (see below), Mr. Botelho sends his message to GoaNet as a blind cc. to his Yahoogroup. From queries I have posed on this forum in the past, he is not a reader of GoaNet but only uses it for his evangelizing, unlike others, eg. Albert, who read and contribute to discussions.
Am I alone in finding this action abhorrent given that this is a secular forum and there are others for his type of postings like the Catholic Goan Network? I would implore the moderators of GoaNet to disallow any posting from members who cannot or do not respond to questions on their postings to this forum. I realise that this could create more work for the moderators and would propose a simple, yet effective, way to increase the quality of postings to GoaNet while reducing the quantity. Simply, to have the "ear" of thousands of Goans worldwide, a voluntary fee of USD$1.00 should apply to every posting. At the end of the month, the donation to GoaNet via their PayPal account should equal the number of individual postings, in USD$. This can be accessed from the "Make a Donation" button on the right of the website http://www.goanet.org/ (note to webmaster: Put PayPal link in header of website) The payment/donation statistics can be published monthly for auditing purposes. If it is possible to track the number of messages released per moderator, half this amount should be reimbursed to the moderators for their time and effort put into keeping this list sane.
