Folks,
One has a choice of writing directly to the author of offensive/elegant posts
and telling him/her what ones feelings are or one can keep quite. Either way,
you will get the net group you deserve. The alternative, as suggested by the
author above, is to bring in more rules. I suspect that some rules e.g. the one
of a maximum of four posts a day, were made to thwart a particular poster. Some
one told me that the most frightening phrase he heard was, "I am the moderator
from Goanet and I am here to help you."

If I have understood the author correctly, s/he is suggesting that everybody
should carry on believing in what they believe. This forum, essentially, should
not be used to discuss ideas......

Since we are on a mission to introduce rules and more rules, how about a policy
of not accepting posts if the moderators think they were composed while the
author had his hands on the honey jar? Alfred chacha produces his best work at
such times. Most others produce their worst. More rules will make the quality
of the posts better, shouldn't it?

On a different note, Selma's idea of giving Bosco a surprise reminds me of this
quintessential Canadian joke. The supervisor of a small workshop gathered all
ten of his staff and told them that it was the boss's birthday that day. He
wanted the staff to surprise the boss with a party that evening. He told them
to all go out and buy something worth one hours wages. The supervisor would
bring the boss into the cafeteria at 6.00 pm, they would turn the lights on and
shout "SURPRISE" and then have a party.

Well one immigrant from Hong Kong returned to the cafeteria with sellotape, a
scissors and some rubber bands. When his work mates asked him what he was going
to do with those things, the new immigrant said as soon as the lights came on,
he would jump up and say "SUPPLIES!"

Since Bosco now cannot be surprised by Selma's plan, here is MY plan to
surprise him. All those of you who want to send him something, send the money
to me. I will collect it and go over to his place before the end of the year
and surprise him. (I might even take some of the money with me).
