This Bamon ladder does not just exist among the Bamons of Goa.
There was a program shown recently on Channel 4 in UK about Private Schools
in Mumbai.
One of the workers who sweeps the classroom floor happened to be of the
shedule caste or Dalits in Mumbai, her husband had died prematurely.
This lady's children were educated free in that school as a special favour.
The cameras followed this worker to her home and subsequently to her Dalit
village.
She had fallen in love with a boy who was also a Dalit, but of a lower Dalit
Caste.
She fled to Mumbai with him due to death threats and had never been back to
see her parents, she said there was too much animosity and was affraid to
return.
Now, after all these years, on her return with her children these villagers
considered her to be of a higher caste than themselves (although she is a
dalit).
I ask you, who is creating this Caste system? Caste within a Caste!! in this
21st Century.
