RESPONSE: My Dear Valmiki, Thank you for that most insightful piece. I didn't know that the issue was so complicated; that poders could be Bamons and so forth, especially when I was young living on a communal compound in Nairobi, the neighbours used to call their siblings 'poder' derogatorily ! Just because one of them was fond of making cakes. You have divulged a mine of information; I trust though that you have held back on the Margao lot, for your forthcoming book. Good luck and best wishes in its success. I would feel only sorrow for anyone, still professing to being a Bamon, with an air of pompousness. The World has moved on, I believe with this present generation. On the other hand it is not anyone's fault to have been born into a particular family; please don't brag. -- DEV BOREM KORUM.
