Gabe,
I seem to attract more than my fair share of half baked MBA's.
Just last weekend I was at a presentation where this MBA focused on the eating
habits of pre and post industrialization economies. He compared the rate of
industrialization of old Europe with the US, and then the US with China. He had
all sorts of coloured maps, pie charts and graphs showing at with stage and at
what rate the population switched their diets from eating vegetables to eating
proteins. After some time I figured out that the MBA's contention was that it
was too late to make money by investing in the change of eating habits of the
Chinese. Instead, he was giving us the (first) opportunity to make money by
investing in the coming demand for proteins by Indians. The MBA actually
believed that the more India developed, the more Indians would demand animal
proteins.
I had to leave his presentation early.
After all, I did not want to be around when that MBA too was forced to take an
early retirement.
