Hi Gilbert
Firstly, I have stated repeatedly that caste among millions of Hindus is not
my immediate concern. My concern is specifically to do with so called
'Catholic' Goans simply because of the incompatibility between caste belief and
Catholic belief and I asked you to address this issue---but to date, you have
failed to do so even when George Pinto and I reminded you to do so? How many
more reminders do you need?

Secondly, I spelt out the difference between caste (the noun and when used as
an adjective) and casteism (as the ideology) very clearly in the past, and as
accepted in the very substantial scholarly literature on this theme. I do not
need to depend on your definitions that definitely fall way outside acceptable
perimeters of scholarly literature. Mario also dealt with your make-believe
definitions, but with great respect, you seem to ignore things you can't deal
with!

Thirdly, I requested you, with at least one reminder, for your firm evidence
that, I had allegedly demeaned you on Goanet. You appear to be unable to do
this and if so, will you please say so because I'm afraid, I will not let this
pass.

Fourthly, I definitely did not say caste is OK among the Hindus. The OK? was
to check with a question mark if Bernardo understood what I had said about
caste among the Hindus in the UK. To try to pretend that you understood
differently from what was intended and understandable to any intelligent
person, including Bernardo, suggests chicanery wouldn't you agree? If not, do
read the particular post more diligently please.

Fifthly, now that you ask, we cannot jettison colour pigmentation but can
definitely jettison our irrational prejudices and particularly, caste racism
because it is not inherited and inherent but learned. So do think about this
point too. Anti-racism in your part of the world (USA) specifically was
targeted at changing entrenched views of racism since slavery days and it is a
crime to be racist there including most parts of the Western world, let alone
other parts. Did you not know this?

So, can we please have substance and less empty rhetoric and maximisation of
repetitious waffle, starting with the simple five points above? Please try. It
really would help to advance the discussion instead of endless regurgitation of
garbage.
  Regards
  Cornel

Caste is OK. Casteism (what Bernardo was referring to) is clearly NOT -
either among Catholics or Hindus.
Either some still do not know the difference between the two terms .... and
confuses them.
OR! Finally the closet-casteist may be out.
