Dear Mr. Editor, There is an English saying: “Even if the Majority agree on an idiotic idea, it is still an idiotic idea.” May I ask: Who elected the present Government?. Does that mean the intellectuals and rational people should shut up? Does it mean that the few who can think straight should let Goa go to dogs? What does one mean when saying anti-Goan? Is tourism the only carrot the government knows to dangle at Goans. Have all Goans turned to rabbits? Is looting Goa and amassing wealth not anti-Goan? Depriving the future generation of Goans their rightful land is not anti-Goan. Who is setting a house on fire because of a rat? Is a rat a pest or not? Is it just one rat or how many of them have we elected to ruin our reserves? And how many of their kin are there with them? What does one mean by saying “bhatkar mentality”? Does the Mundkar Act apply to the elected representatives in the government and give them the right of “mundkar’ and ownership of all the land of Goa, so they can sell clandestinely or do whatever they want with it? Does it forfeit the right of true Goans to protect their land and future generation? Remember, rats are irrational animals, they go by instinct. They are all scared of rational animals.
